Management/Administration Team

Centre Manager
Christian education is precious to my heart. I began my own journey as a young teacher in 1982 in a Christian school and have had the privilege of continuing in that role until now. During that time I got married to Les and we had three awesome children who have now grown into awesome adults. I believe that one important contributing factor to their success has been their Christian education. At Footsteps we work hard to prepare children for life in the here and now but also for eternity. I feel very privileged to be part of a team of passionate Christian educators who take their role of growing and nurturing children really seriously. Each of us invests deeply in the children and are constantly delighted at the growth and development we see in them. We believe that each child is worth our combined very best efforts every day. Footsteps is a very special place – filled with love, fun and joy and I am so glad to be a part of the Footsteps family.

Office Administrator (Part-time)
I am married to Andrew and have three children who have all attended Footsteps Preschool during their younger years. I always valued the Christian education they received and the knowledge they gained from attending Footsteps. I am excited to be joining the team on a part-time basis and look forward to getting to know the children and families who are now attending Footsteps Preschool. Outside of work, I am passionate about photography and fitness and enjoy doing half marathons and tri-athlthons. I enjoy travelling and have a fond place in my heart for Thailand. I have lived and worked over in London for 3 years working for KPMG Consulting in the Graphic Design Team. I am now looking forward to the new challenge of getting back into the workforce after having a few years off raising my children.

Management Team
My experience as a primary teacher has led me to appreciate the need for children to be given every opportunity in order for them to flourish both academically and emotionally. I am excited to be a part of helping the Footsteps team provide our children with a variety of opportunities and to maximise collaborative relationships with teachers, parents, whanau and caregivers. I have lived in Papatoetoe for most of my life and really love the strong community that exists here. My children are part of the Footsteps family and they love their time here. As a family we really appreciate the love and care that each staff member shows to all the children in the centre.

Management Team
Hi, I'm Donna - mother of Milan and Eva and wife of Pelu. We all love being part of the Footsteps family and know you will too. It’s a great place to learn and most importantly be close to God. The Footsteps team are passionate educators and will make your children feel loved and accepted. Our family feel blessed to be part of the Footsteps community.

Trustee and Management Support
Life before Footsteps was working as a physiotherapist where my interest and passion was antenatal education and women’s health. After giving birth to my two children I realised that parenting was the hardest and most rewarding job in life and wanted to support parents in this important role. I worked as the Children and Families Leader at our local church (next door) for six years and during that time realised the need for Christian early childhood education in our community, so spearheaded the setting up Footsteps in 2007. I am passionate about things being done well and seeing children connected to Jesus through relationships. I desire for Footsteps to always be an environment where people feel loved and supported, and where a high standard of education, support and care is provided for children and families to flourish. I have had the privilege of leading the team as Centre Manager for a number of years and am now supporting the current manager Angelia, to lead, inspire and take the Centre to greater heights. I love being a part of the Footsteps whanau!
